How to Disable Virtual Machine Service to Avoid Lowering Emulator Performance

If you encounter the “Virtual machine service is enabled” prompt when launching the emulator, press “Restart PC” to fix it. If after restarting your PC, you still receive the same prompt when trying to open the emulator, please the script in this guide to fix this error.

2. When using the script in this guide to disable virtual machine service (Hyper-V), other Windows functions which require Hyper-V will be turned off too, including:

  • Disable Windows Hello (Disable facial recognition and fingerprint recognition. Could also disable PIN in some case.)

  • Disable Windows sandbox
  • Disable WSL2 (Windows Subsystem for Linux)
  • Disable Hypervisor Platform

 

Before running the script, please make sure that you acknowledge and accept these changes.

And make sure to proceed ONLY IF there is a valid way to your current Microsoft .

 

Step 1: the script

Before running the script, close all of your running programs to avoid losing important data as you need to restart your PC after running it.

Disable any antivirus running in your PC in case it stops the script from running.

 

Step 2: Run the script as an

 

Find the script file named “HyperV-off.exe” that you have ed. Right click on the file and select "Run as ".

 

Step 3: If the script is blocked by antivirus, make sure you have disabled all antivirus

 

When running the script, if you get any “insufficient permission” or “operation blocked” error:

  • Make sure the antivirus in your PC has been turned off completely, including background processes.
  • Temporarily disable Windows Firewall (Control > System & Security > Windows Defender Firewall > Turn Windows Defender Firewall on&off)
  • Add the file into the antivirus’ whitelist.

 

Step 4: After running the script, restart your PC

 

When the script finishes running, it will say “Finished. Restart to apply”. Restart your PC immediately for the change to take effect.
