5 Budget-friendly War Robots Builds You Can Try in 2025 (Tested & Approved!)
The easiest way to get a quick start in any game, besides skills, is of course to “get the latest stuff”. But what if you want something different, maybe a bit unorthodox? And what if you want to avoid spending too much getting it? We asked ourselves these questions and, as a result, tested a few interesting builds in War Robots. They will cover basically every category of players and will help you get your head in the game.
Fenrir
Weapons: 2x Mace (M), 1x Hammer (H) / 2x Hazard (M), 1x Decay (H)
Pilot: Bernadette Wolff
Drone: Reviver / Hiruko
Specialization: Brawler
Active Module: Repair Unit / Advanced Repair Unit
If you want to dive headlong into the fight, then, on the cheaper end, the options are scarce. There's one robot, however, that we've discovered to be somewhat of a community icon, and it's durable enough to give you that sweet, tanky feel.
Fenrir's ability allows it to switch between two modes. One offers increased mobility and an energy shield; the other cuts incoming damage in half. Naturally, you'll keep the second one on most of the time. But even with that, you'll need a secret ingredient to survive the fires of the Champions League. Pilot Bernadette Wolff is key to this build—she boosts Fenrir's HP by a whopping 60%, giving you a chance against the big guns.
The rest of the build compounds the tankiness. The Reviver drone adds another 10% and saves you once per battle when you are about to bot out. And the Brawler spec, with its combo of Repair and Immune Amplifiers, provides some great snowballing potential. Repair Unit will be your active module of choice, and if you have some Power Cells to spare, consider switching to its Advanced version—robots with more HP benefit from it the most.
Harpy
Weapons: 2x Razdor (M), 1x Smuta (H) / 2x Skadi (M), 1x Hel (H)
Pilot: Yang Lee (Harpy/Siren)
Drone: Daltokki / Paralysis
Specialization: Attack / Damage Dealer
Active Module: Phase Shift / Repair Unit / Antistealth
Most of your Harpy runs will be short but full of fiery action. This robot doesn't offer much in of defense anyway, so why not just go all in and build a glass cannon?
For Harpy's specialization, choose Attack or Damage Dealer. The first includes Piercer Units for dealing with heavy targets like Titans, and the second has Nuclear Amplifier. Both work fine, so the choice is more of a personal preference. Your go-to drone is Daltokki—it boosts your damage permanently and then boosts it even more when you use an active module. Paralysis is a solid alternative. It provides the same permanent damage bonus but requires using Repair Unit for an additional boost.
Speaking of which, Repair Unit isn't the preferred active module on Harpy. Only the temporary immunity of Phase Shift will help you survive focused fire. But if survival isn't the priority, consider Antistealth. The current meta is stealth-heavy, and this module gives you a chance to counter some of the popular tactics.
There's only one pilot to recommend for this build—Yang Lee. He allows you to shoot straight through energy shields, which is huge. Just make sure to hire the right Yang Lee, the one with (Harpy/Siren) in the pilot name.
A few words on weapons: Razdor and Smuta are great, but we found the much more easily available Skadi and Hel to be equally powerful. There's so much to discover in this game!
Shenlou
Weapons: 2x Leiming (M), 1x Fengbao (H)
Pilot: Bai “White Star” Xing
Drone: Whiteout / Qingting
Specialization: Saboteur
Active Module: Repair Unit / Phase Shift
If you’re into fast, hit-and-run playstyles, Shenlou is a blast to pilot. This robot uses its ability to teleport up to 350 meters toward a target, gaining an Aegis shield with each jump. It can use up to three charges before returning to its original position, making it perfect for chaos and confusion.
The key to surviving these risky dives is pilot Bai Xing. Her ive boosts Aegis Shield HP every time you blink, giving Shenlou the extra durability it badly needs mid-fight.
Weapon-wise, Leiming and Fengbao hit hard at short range, syncing well with the teleporting style. Whiteout is your best drone here — it’s budget-friendly but brings EMP, which combos beautifully with teleportation to shut down enemy abilities, denying them an escape route. Qingting is a good alternative for extra lockdown time and bonus damage.
As for modules, Repair Unit will do the job, but Phase Shift is the real MVP. Its brief invulnerability window is often the only thing between you and instant deletion.
Stick to Saboteur over Attack—the toolkit is all about disruption, not brawling. Shenlou rewards players who can think fast, hit hard, and vanish before the enemy knows what hit them.
Crisis
Weapons: 4x Reaper (standard) / 4x Gauss (experimental)
Pilot: Gintare Kairyte
Drone: Showdown / Solar / Beak
Specialization: Damage Dealer
Active Module: Antistealth / Phase Shift / Repair Unit
If you want to control the battlefield from a distance, Crisis is your choice. Its ive Stealth keeps it untargetable until you fire, while Overpower boosts damage and punches through energy shields—perfect for dispatching enemies before they react.
Most use Reapers for their raw burst and shield-piercing, but we tested Gauss, and it might be better. Faster reloads, stable damage, and great range make it a reliable alternative in longer fights.
Pilot-wise, there’s only one option: Gintare. Her skill stacks extra damage during Overpower, pushing Crisis's lethality even higher. Basil and Manni just don’t keep up.
Your best drone is Showdown—it buffs damage after stealth ends, speeds you up during stealth, keeps your weapons firing, and makes sure your robot doesn't lose its weapons even under heavy fire. Solar and Beak are decent, but they don’t match Showdown’s synergy.
The current meta is full of stealth robots like Ravager and Dux, so Antistealth is a top-tier choice for snipers. Phase Shift is a strong second pick for survivability, and Repair Unit works fine if you're short on Power Cells.
This is a pure Damage Dealer build—stay hidden, strike hard, and reposition. With the right setup, you’ll be destroying enemies before they even see you.
Imugi
Weapons: 2x Skadi, 1x Snaer / 2x Discipline, 1x Smite / 2x Hazard, 1x Blight
Pilot: Monique Lenormann / Mao Ling
Drone: Paralysis / Reviver
Specialization: / Attack
Active Module: Phase Shift / Repair Unit
Imugi is a flexible pick for cautious or aggressive play, thanks to its Battle Breach ability. When activated, it flies with Stealth, gains a damage boost, then lands to recover HP, activate defenses, and drop a two-way teleporter. The portal lasts 60 seconds and helps teammates reposition while healing and gaining resistance.
There are three main builds. Skadi and Snaer spread damage safely over time — great for conservative play. Discipline and Smite hit harder and are common in live battles, though the guns are pricey. Hazard and Blight give big burst potential.
Monique is the better pilot overall—she boosts your damage and helps by enemy resistances mid-flight. Mao Ling adds more of a team angle by healing and shielding allies when you land.
Paralysis leans into offense with lockdown and damage boosts, while Reviver keeps you alive longer and gives one last chance if things go wrong.
Use Phase Shift to dodge burst damage—it's especially good on Imugi since you’ll often be exposed mid-flight. Repair Unit is a decent fallback to smooth out incoming pressure.
Both and Attack specs work well here. Imugi is all about creative movement, smart engagements, and team plays. A strong pick in capable hands.
