Honkai Star Rail - Castorice & Anaxa - Everything You Need To Know
Castorice
The flagship limited character for Honkai Star Rail’s 2nd anniversary, Castorice is a Limited 5* character of the Quantum element and follows the path of Remembrance. She excels at being a DPS character that deals massive amounts of damage based on her Max HP stat by summoning her Dragon familiar and decimate enemies with powerful AoE attacks.
Castorice's main gameplay revolves around manipulating the entire party’s max HP in order to fill up her charge bar and uses her ultimate to summon her dragon familiar. When using her Skill, Castorice will attack all enemies with a big AoE attack, dealing massive amounts of Quantum Damage and reducing the HP of the entire party by a set amount. The more HP the party loses, the more charge Castorice will gain in order to activate her ultimate.
Once filled, Castorice can use her Ultimate to summon her familiar - the Dragon of Death. When on the field, the dragon can take action independently from Castorice, dealing AoE damage to enemies with its normal attacks and skills. Its most powerful attack lies in its skill, which can be activated by consuming its Max HP by 25% for every attack, allowing it to deal up to 6 attacks in a row (at E2) and decimates all enemies in front of it. Additionally, when the dragon’s HP reaches 0 or when it has taken 3 actions, it will deal 1 powerful hit of AoE Quantum damage to all enemies.
To play with Castorice, you will need to be mindful of the team’s HP and healing, as she will require you to constantly heal the team so that she can consume the team’s HP to summon her familiar. Additionally, Having Castorice Grants Your An Inherit Beneficial Effect In The Form Of Global ive. A Global ive is a unique ive that will be active as long as you have the character in your , making it essentially an buff. Castorice’s Global ive allows The Party To Withstand A Lethal Attack, Surviving With 1 HP When Downed And Allow The Party To Keep Fighting If They Are Healed Backup In Time.
Anaxagoras (Anaxa)
Anaxagoras (or Anaxa) is a 5* Limited Wind Character following the path of Erudition. He excels at dealing damage to all enemies in front of him and inflicting them with debuffs and asg elemental weaknesses onto the enemies, with the more weakness types enhancing the damage he deals.
Anaxagoras’ gimmick revolves around his skill, which allows him to hit all enemies on the field and inflict them with an elemental weakness assignment. When used correctly, Anaxa can assign up to 7 different elemental weaknesses on the enemies, allowing the party to break the enemies more easily. When hitting enemies with 5 weaknesses, Anaxagoras’ Skill damage will be massively increased and he will be able to trigger his skill against the enemies 1 more time.
When using his ultimate, Anaxagoras will inflict all enemies with a special debuff, asg all 7 weaknesses on the enemies instantly during the duration of the debuff, allowing him to deal even more damage to them and make it easier for him to trigger the free skill use.
Anaxagoras excels at creating opportuned moments for his allies to attack the enemies, enhancing the damage output of himself and his allies by inflicting powerful weaknesses on the enemies, making him a very good secondary DPS/ er for many different team comps.
Rerun Characters
Aside from the brand new characters coming in Honkai Star Rail 3.2 Update Patch, several characters will have their rerun banners as well:
- Fugue: A 5* Limited Fire Nihility Character. A powerful character that enables Break Effect team compositions by creating an additional break bar for allies, allowing Break teams to deal even more Break damage when they break enemies multiple times.
- Acheron: A 5* Limited Lightning Nihility Character. One of the game’s strongest DPS characters that relies on her ability to spam her Ultimate damage against enemies when the team has inflicted enough debuffs on the enemies, allowing her to destroy waves of enemies easily.
- Jiaoqiu: A 5* Limited Fire Nihility Character. Jiaoqiu is a very good debuff enabler character that excels at constantly debuffing the enemies, enhancing the damage they take from allies.
- Dr. Ratio: A 5* Limited Imaginary Hunt Character. Dr. Ratio is a decent Dps character that focuses on dealing Single Target Follow up Attacks against enemies, dealing massive amounts of Imaginary damage to enemies. When attacking enemies, the more debuffs are inflicted on enemies, the more damage Dr.Ratio deals and the higher the chance he will initiate a Follow Up Attack against the enemy.
Honkai Star Rail 3.2 Banners - Who Should You Roll For
Castorice & Anaxa - Which Character Should You Roll
Between the 2 brand new limited characters coming to Honkai Star Rail version 3.2 - Castorice and Anaxa, if players were to only be able to roll for 1 of them, which characters should you roll for?
Between the 2, it is almost unanimously clear that players should prioritize rolling for Castorice over Anaxa. This is due to several different factors, including the fact that Castorice’s skill kit and damage output greatly exceeds that of Anaxa and allow her to be a very crucial DPS character for future contents moving forward. In addition, due to the fact that Castorice has the special Global ive, making having her in your buff your entire .
While Anaxa is still a very strong character that deals amazing damage, the fact that his skill kit requires a secondary option in order to function properly and still doesn't allow him to deal as much damage as Castorice makes it so that he’s less of a priority to roll during the update patch.
Players should absolutely prioritize rolling and getting Castorice for your . For Anaxa, if players already have a good Erudition character built and want to make a good Erudition team, then you can consider rolling for him.
Castorice & Anaxa Lightcones - Should You Roll
Aside from the characters, the other factor players will need to consider are xthe limited light cones that will be rated up alongside Castorice and Anaxa.
Castorice’s Lightcone increases her Max HP by a set amount and makes it so that both hers and her familiar’s attacks ignores a portion of the enemies’ defense while attacking them. Meanwhile, Anaxa’s Lightcone helps increase his critical rate, generates his energy against waves of enemies and allows him to inflict a def reduction debuff on all enemies when he uses his abilities.
Between the 2 Lightcones, players should focus on getting Castorice’s Lightcone due to its massive damage boosting potential for her. Anaxa’s Lightcone doesn’t actually do too much additional effects for Anaxa himself, so players can skip his signature Lightcone and substitute it for other Lightcones on Anaxa
Rerun Characters - Should You Roll
Finally, between the 2 brand new limited characters and their signature lightcones, players will have the chance to roll for limited rerunning characters as well. So who should you focus on?
- For Fugue: You should roll Fugue if you want to boost the overall damage potential of your Break teams. However, she is not a requirement to run break teams.
- For Acheron: You should only roll Acheron if you are lacking a good Lighting DPS character. However, do note that Acheron is not a very F2P friendly character due to the fact that she requires her Lightcone and a lot of optimal teammates to work with.
- For Jiaoqiu: You should roll for Jiaoqiu if you want an enabler for Acheron comp as he is her best partner. Otherwise, he also excels at debuffing enemies.
- For Dr.Ratio: If you played the game during 1.6 and onward, you will already have a free copy of Dr.Ratio. If so, it is not recommended for you to roll for him.
